How do commissions work?
I’ve recently started taking on commissions and would love to create a special piece for you or a loved one. The process is so very straight forward!
Get in touch with me via email or any of my socials to express your interest in a commission.
We can discuss size, subject and timeframes and I can provide you with a pricing guideline.
If you choose to proceed, I will prepare a few digital mock ups/concepts for you to ponder using adobe Photoshop/Indesign etc. You provide feedback and I either tweak or start again! You can see some examples of digital concepts I prepared for a recent commission in the images below.
Once we have landed on a concept, it’s time for me to get painting.
When the piece is nearing completion, I will send you a few photographs and you can request various minor adjustments such as altering colours slightly.
Once we are both happy and the painting is complete, we can arrange framing if required and it’s time for you to collect your painting or for me to ship your new beauty to you.
Your invoice will be issued prior to collection/shipping.
Your new painting looks amazing in it’s new home and you tell anyone who will listen how amazing the whole process was!!
An example commission process in pictures…
Want to see how it works rather than just read? Feast your eyes below! The brief for this commission was as follows:
feature pinks, yellows blues
include a cheeky magpie. The client provided two photographs of magpies she had captured herself which could be used but didnt need to be.
medium size painting (50-100cm) and could be square, landscape or portrait
possibly a ‘flat lay’ background or garden scene
Concept option 1
Concept Option 2. This concept included one of the magpie photographs provided by the client. She particularly loved his juvenile feathers.
Concept Option 3 (Selected by client). This concept was the client’s preferred option but we agreed to include a broader variety of shades of blue, pink and yellow than shown here and to reduce the spindly silver foliage in favour of more greenery and flowers. This magpie photograph was also provided by the client and while she liked his inquisitive pose, we also agreed to include some of the juvenile feathers of the magpie in the previous photo.
The final result!
